Volunteering Opportunities

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Butts Mutts!

Because we are a foster-based rescue, we do not operate a central physical facility or kennel. Our dogs live in private homes with our dedicated foster families until they find their "furever" homes. For this reason, we do not have traditional, on-site volunteer shifts (like walking dogs or cleaning kennels) within our organization.

Where Your Help is Needed Most

If you are looking for hands-on experience working with animals in a shelter environment, we highly recommend volunteering with Butts County Animal Services. Please contact them for additional information on how you can help make a difference in a shelter dogs day. They are the local facility that houses many of the dogs we eventually pull into our rescue, and they are always in need of passionate volunteers to help improve the lives of the animals in their care. Butts County Animal Services is located at 158 Bibb Station Rd, Jackson, GA 30233.

To learn more about their requirements and to submit an application, please contact Butts County Animal Services at animalcontrol@buttscounty.org or 770-775-8011.

Still want to help Butts Mutts?

Even without a physical building, there are vital ways you can support our mission and the dogs in our care:

  • Foster: Open your heart and home to a dog in need. This is the ultimate way to volunteer and directly saves lives!

  • Share: Be a digital advocate. Follow us on social media and share our adoptable dogs’ posts to help them find their furever homes faster.

  • Donate: Your contributions go directly toward vetting, food, and supplies for our fosters.
