Hobbes with Heroes Horses and Hounds

Hobbes was found running in a field with horses! Sounds romantic right? Carefree? No, he shouldn't have been there and so he was picked up and taken to the shelter. He was very friendly, but unbeknownst to us he had been nicked in the head by one of the horses, and over night developed a large lump on his head! We quickly took him to the vet over the holidays and bless him it was an abscess and had to be drained, so he spent a few days in the hospital and quickly recovered! Hobbes was fostered with our local trainer and he proved to be amazing! After contacting Colleen Campbell with Heroes Horses and Hounds -we found his niche - service training! He passed his SAFER test easily and he was selected to go to HHH! He has finished with his training and helps his little person overcome anxiety!
This has to be one of our favorite success stories!!
Since then we have sent more shelter dogs to train as service dogs - Bernadette, PeeWee, Sophie, Tillie - thanks to our belief that all dogs have a purpose - these shelter dogs prove everyday that they are worthy of our hard work and make the perfect pet given the right circumstances!

All of our dogs have success stories! We have sent them to Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maine and Connecticut where they were quickly adopted and will live long happy lives thanks to their winning personalities and the benefit of having multiple folks on their team!
